Good Morning Pioneer Baptist!

The Supreme Court Nomination!

As we continue to see a great gulf developing in our political America, we are listening to the Democrats define the process of the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice, in this case, Amy Coney Barrett. I watched Fox news last night and listened to the Democrats defining the process, but this morning, I’m having a very difficult time locating the words they used.

This much I know and have substantiated, Senator Harris called the process a “sham” and so did many others, I just can’t find it in print. Senators Warren and Hirona called the process “illegitimate” and the attacks have either hinted that the process is unconstitutional, or possibly stated as much outright. It’s funny that these terms are hard to find this morning. Is someone ashamed of how they’re talking?

A “sham” is “something that is not what it purports to be; a spurious imitation; fraud or hoax.” And “illegitimate” is “not authorized by the law; not in accordance with accepted standards or rules.” Obviously I suppose, unconstitutional would mean not according to the constitution. Well, the purpose is not a sham, the purpose is simply to replace a justice vacancy. The constitution spells out the process, which President Trump and the Senate are following. So much for throwing around terms that the media is trying to hide because they are so ridiculous.

So what’s all the fuss about? The fuss is all about a Republican conservative President putting justices on the court who are conservative. As President Barack Obama famously said, “Elections have consequences.” The Democrats want a liberal leaning Bench, while conservatives do not. Supreme Court vacancies are not controlled by Trump, he just gets to respond to them, and this time, it is not working out well for the Democrats, and they're performing their usual crying act. Whether it was a black man (Thomas), or a white man (Kavanaugh), or a woman (Barrett) the Democrats are out in force if the prospective appointees are conservative. It’s life, and the party of abortion fears that they will lose the right to end a baby’s life moments before birth, or minutes after birth in certain conditions. Few people believe Roe v. Wade would be overturned, and while I am not an expert, I have heard it stated by informed folks that if it were overturned, then decisions would go back to the states. And speaking of terminology, how clever is it to define killing a baby (and horrendously so) as “Pro-Choice.” (Nice to have positive terms, but for the individual whose life is being ended, it’s “No-Choice.”)

Democrats have never accepted the 2016 Presidential election, and this is further indication of it. They have alluded to packing the court if Joe Biden wins (They’ll have to explain to him that he is now President), adding states to the Country, and various other plans that will give them complete control. Then (if they wish) they can tear down all of the statues, grant reparations, congregate without masks while looting businesses, weld Jewish cemetery gates shut, close churches, defund the police, and adopt the 1619 Project, telling our young people what a terrible nation America really is.

Is this fear mongering on my part, or is it just repeating what the Democrats themselves are saying? To borrow their own terms, theirs is not a sham, it’s their plainly stated purpose, and it’s not illegitimate if they get the votes. Some of my conservative friends believe the Rapture we await is very close at hand, and indeed, it may be, but plenty of countries have gone socialistic/communistic/Marxist, and the rapture hasn’t happened yet. America is (or was) one nation under God. We were not established under perfection, have not achieved perfection, but we’re working on it. Ben Franklin (according to some) said in response to a question of what government we got at the Constitutional Convention, “A republic, if you can keep it.” I pray we can.

I still love Isaiah 33:22 (KJV) “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us.” Now there’s perfection in all three branches of government. And it is coming!

God Bless America.

Love to all,

Pastor
