Good Morning Pioneer Baptist!

Ecclesiastes 8:4 says “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?”

They call them “executive orders” and while our United States Presidents are not kings, they do hold the executive office, and they do have a whole lot of power, exercised “with the stroke of the pen.” These executive orders have the force of a law, but can be overcome by an act of congress, which would then have to have the necessary votes to overturn what would usually be a Presidential veto. Joe Biden was seen busily signing executive orders shortly after his inauguration last Wednesday, as he has now signed 30 executive orders in his first three days. These include America rejoining the Paris Climate Accord, cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline, halting our exit from the World Health Organization, halting construction of the Border Wall, allowing transgenders into the military and allowing them to compete against women in sports, restrictions on Homeland Security’s deporting of illegals, and rescinding the Trump administration's 1776 Commission. (The 1619 project has not been the target of any executive orders.)

Like it or lump it, it’s mighty impressive to watch a man wield such power with the stroke of a pen. Some assure us that thanks to President Joe’s strokes, we can now fear being in subjection to mid-eastern “down with America” nations for our energy needs. Then there are the caravans of future “undocumented citizens” trekking up through Central America to cross over into America, and your daughter getting bulldozed by a man who is now inside a woman’s body, and of course, higher taxes, as the people the Democrats despise will be asked to help pick up the tab for the things they oppose. Good times!

I don’t like it, but I guess things happen that way. But think of this, the LORD evidently writes our names down in a book, the Book of Life. (“Lucifer no like!”) It means we’re going to Heaven, that our sins are forgiven, and that God has exercised the ultimate “Executive Order.” Thank the LORD and praise His name! God didn’t look at my works, He looked at my confession of faith and accepted me as I accepted the Eternal President, the LORD Jesus Christ!

Now that’s an Executive Order that I can get behind! Why wouldn’t we all? After all “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” It’s the stroke of the mighty, mighty pen of God almighty!

Love to all,

Pastor
