Good Morning Pioneer Baptist!

Manufactured Perceptions!

Antifa and BLM, according to some, are just figments of our imaginations, or as now President Biden said during the Presidential debates, “Antifa is ‘an idea, not an organization.”

(If so, what do you think of the “idea”? – my question)

But Brittany Bernstein, writing for National Review, says this: “Black-bloc anarchists, many of whom identify as ‘anti-fascists,’ rioted in a number of major American cities this summer, vandalizing businesses and homes, setting fires, and clashing with law enforcement. The unrest began in June and persisted for more than 100 consecutive nights in Portland, Ore.”

Then there is this from Andy Ngo in the New York Post: “Last May, thousands of rioters in Minneapolis brought the city to its knees after the police-involved death of George Floyd. Over three days, rioters burned down a police station, looted hundreds of businesses and burned entire neighborhoods to the ground. Mass street violence also broke out in Washington, DC, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle and dozens of other cities; at least two dozen died in the course of the riots.”

And without citing a source other than my own television eyes, rioting and looting in New York City was bad, with stores crashed into, police cars bashed and burned, and violence all around.

In the 100 consecutive nights of Portland, little was done in the way of militaristic intervention to cease the carnage, but after 7 hours of knuckleheads rioting at the Capitol, and after a little less than 6 hours of infiltration, the U.S. Capitol Police declared the Capitol building to be secure. ("Timeline for December 31, 2020 - January 6, 2021." Office of the Secretary of Defense. January 8, 2021.) Things seem to have been quiet on the Capital home front since then, but we have thousands of National Guard posted there to this day. Are we really expecting a government takeover by white supremacist groups, or are these “Manufactured Perceptions”?

So, when I see cities burning for 100 days, I am told all is peaceful, but when I see very little criminal activity if any following 7 hours of rioting by people who all conservatives including me have condemned, I am told there is an imminent threat to the nation.

Could these be “Manufactured Perceptions”? The Mainstream Media has basically declared the Bible to be hate speech, as today’s morals are at odds with the Bible’s stated morals. So in America, originally based largely on the Bible, we cannot quote the Bible on certain subjects or we’ll be taken off Tweety Bird’s Tweet-Tweet, and we might even be jailed. The perception is that the Capitol is under assault, when it is assuredly not. The perception posed is that last summer’s riots by Antifa and BLM were peaceful, which they assuredly were not. The perception is that the Bible is a hateful, unworthy piece of literature, inapplicable to today’s society, which it is not. This is pushed and enforced by the various forms of social media, and though I’m not particularly afraid, I wonder how long before the troops are standing guard in our churches, churches who are preaching the whole counsel of God without apology, but who would never in any way preach violence against the United States of America. We don’t wear covering masks, we don’t burn and stomp the American Flag but stand for it, and we support our local police forces and our armed national military.

That’s the truth, but what is the “Manufactured Perception”?

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” That’s our First Amendment! Let’s all pray for our continued First Amendment rights!

Love to all,

Pastor
