Black Lives Matter!
Of course they do, and it is wrong, ridiculous, and immoral, to say or practice otherwise. Black lives matter every bit as much as so called “white lives” or as any other shade or hue of lives. We embrace the slogan, but the organization entitled “Black Lives Matter” presents other things to be considered.
Here are some quotes from the official Guiding Principles of Black Lives Matter. “We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, …. We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead. We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence. We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure …”
In the official “Kid Friendly Version” it is stated to children that “Everybody has the right to choose their own gender by listening to their own heart and mind. Everyone gets to choose if they are a girl or a boy or both or neither or something else, and no one else gets to choose for them.”
Many Black Americans embrace these “Guiding Principles” but there are also many who do not. Last night on the Ingraham Angle, I was introduced to Carol Swain, a former political science professor at both Vanderbilt and Princeton Universities, as well as the author of “Be the People: a call to reclaim America’s Faith and Practice.” It is Carol Swain’s belief that Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization which is destructive of the Black community, destructive to the Black family, and destructive to racial justice. Of BLM being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, she calls it “ludicrous” and I’m pretty sure she was not referring to the rapper. She also fears that we are “destroying our children” and that “We live in an insane world.” This (whether one agrees or disagrees) is from a very well-spoken and highly successful Black lady.
God created us “male and female” (Gen 1:27) so, for the Bible believer we are not free or able to choose our gender, which is one of the issues that places a great gulf between the Bible believer and the Black Lives Matter believer. This is the United States of America, where, LORD willing, we are still able to choose and express our views on God’s Guidelines verses the guidelines of others. Rather than make BLM’s Guidelines a part of our nation’s school curriculum, I would like to see God’s Word in our curriculum – and maybe a little included of “Leo 2.0” (civil rights attorney and Fox News contributor, Leo Terrell) as opposed to some other things!
