Good Morning Pioneer Baptist!

“I know Satan has most of the world buffaloed (nothing against buffaloes.)”

That was a part of my closing on yesterday’s piece, and maybe somebody might have wondered, “Where in the world did that expression come from?” Well here is what my main source says about the definition and use of “buffaloed.” This from Dictionary.com: “to puzzle or baffle; confuse; mystify: He was buffaloed by the problem. To impress or intimidate by a display of power, importance, etc.: The older boys buffaloed him.” Within this definition are two seemingly opposed concepts; intimidation and confusion. One other application offered had to do with a practice lawmen like Wyatt Earp used, that of hitting a perp on the head with the barrel of their six-shooter, rendering them dazed enough to be taken into custody.

Here’s the real deal. Buffalo being big and strong, they can certainly be intimidating, (they can “buffalo” you) but they are also easily confused. The Indians would cover themselves in buffalo hide and get close enough to pick them off with bow and arrow while most of the herd barely noticed. They were “buffaloed.” Also, they could be stampeded by gunfire, thus “buffaloed.” So to be “buffaloed” is to be confused, intimidated, or clubbed silly on the head. It sounds like what the Lefties Leaders are doing to many today. Much of America is being “buffaloed.”

But we hope not most, and there are reasons to believe that despite the Fake News Media, the America Buffalo today is not confused, refuses to be intimidated, and under President Trump is too smart and tough to succumb to being clubbed on the head. It hasn’t always been that way, but maybe we’ve finally got a leader who is smarter than that “wolf in sheep’s hide” and who will not leave us stampeding at the mere viewing of the letters BLM. And let’s not forget about our Buffalo Lookouts, Rush, Tucker, Sean, Laura, Glen and others. Wild Hill Nancy and her rustlers might be on our trail, but we’ve got the Lone Stranger to Washington draining the Swamp while sitting in the Oval Office, and that, Tonto, is a “heap big comfort.” All right, that’s it for me mixing my metaphors like a Starbucks Partner – Opps Pardner, did I just do it again?

We’ve got to get good information that is based on reason. Yes we are emotional creatures and God made us that way, but He also gave us brains and the ability to reason. Satan is a liar and a deceiver, has been successfully plying his trade on humans since the Garden, and does not care whatsoever about our well-being. He’ll try to intimidate us with intellectualism, confuse us with various cults, and sneak up on us dressed as a friend before he clubs us with a kiss. Jesus told us all about Satan, and Jesus didn’t mince His words. You can look it up. Jesus cares so much that He gave His life for us, so there is no questioning His sincerity, then he arose victoriously over Death, so there is no questioning His power and authority. And this all happened exactly as He said it would, so there is no questioning His truthfulness and correctness. Jesus is love and He came to us in love. No intimidation, no confusion, and no clubbing over the head.

Jesus will never “buffalo” us!

Love and Prayers to all,

Pastor
